Picking the perfect Christmas tree
Our second tip is all about how to pick the perfect tree. Usually, you'll find either a fake or a real tree in your home but both are just as damaging to our environment. Despite looking so similar, their impacts are quite different.
Fake trees often contain a lot of plastic in both their packaging and design. As we know, not all of this plastic reaches the right places and some leak into our oceans, harming innocent sea life. However, fake trees are reusable so if you do own one try to ensure that you use it every year for as long as possible. This reduces the amount of plastics you may use as an individual or as a family.
Authentic Christmas trees are sadly not a brilliant alternative to fake ones, as once they're cut down and their roots are removed, the tree itself is dead. The earth's trees help to produce a huge amount of the oxygen we breathe, so cutting them down isn't the best thing to be doing. But we're not suggesting you don't have a Christmas tree! We just have a Eco friendly alternative to share.
Potted Christmas Trees!
A simple and affordable alternative to the real trees the majority of us currently use. The difference between the two is that you're able to keep a potted tree all year around!
Since the roots of the tree aren't cut off, it can continue to grow and you're able to use it year after year. There's no limits with a potted tree as it only gets bigger and bigger, meaning your festive decorations can get better and better!
Whether you keep it out in the garden until it's time for Christmas or decide to keep it as a part of your home we're sure that you'll love this ocean friendly addition to your Christmas celebrations.
